Glossary of Expressions in Biological Control

Biological control is a form of pest control. It involves the careful use of one living organism to manage, manipulate or control the population of a pest species. The following is a short list of common or main terms used in biological control.  It is not intended to be exhaustive.  Other sources are available and if interested we would recommend consulting some of the sites listed at the end as alternative resources.

Most of the expressions are straightforward. However, as scientists opinions can differ there may be some definitions open to criticism.
